Duane Morris Boston Office Adds Corporate Partner Jonathan Lourie

Gregory R. Haworth Named Duane Morris Newark Office Managing Partner

NEWARK, N.J., January 18, 2017-Duane Morris LLP has appointed Gregory R. Haworth managing partner of its Newark, N.J. office. Haworth succeeds Walter J. Greenhalgh, who has served in that role since the office’s opening in 1996.

“While Greg has some very big shoes to fill in succeeding Walter Greenhalgh, he is an extremely successful lawyer with a great client following in the financial services and banking sectors, and with his experience as a member of our Partners Board, I know that he will be tremendously effective in his new role,” said John J. Haworth focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation, bankruptcy and banking litigation, defense of consumer claims, construction litigation and disputes related to trade secrets and non-disclosure, contracts, commercial real estate, trusts, shareholders and class actions. Haworth has litigated matters in numerous forums that include the federal, state and bankruptcy courts in New Jersey, New York and other states.

Haworth was recognized for nine successive years in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in the area of commercial litigation in New Jersey. Clients commend his strong courtroom presence and excellent analytical skills. Haworth is a member of the Bankruptcy Law and Banking Law sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association.

Haworth is a 1982 graduate of Rutgers School of Law – Newark, where he was a member of the Law Review, and a graduate of Franklin College.

Greenhalgh will continue his bankruptcy practice at Duane Morris as of counsel. A board-certified Business Bankruptcy Law specialist by the American Board of Certification, Greenhalgh has been listed in the area of Bankruptcy/Restructuring in New Jersey by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business since 2009.

BOSTON, July 10, 2013-Duane Morris is pleased to announce that Jonathan Lourie ( has joined the firm’s Corporate Practice Group as a partner in the firm’s growing Boston office. Lourie’s arrival further strengthens Duane Morris’ corporate capabilities, particularly in the areas of life sciences, new media and technology transactions. Lourie joins the firm from Edwards Wildman. Lourie is the third lawyer to join the Boston office in the past two months, including Daniel B. Winslow, a Massachusetts state representative who re-joined the firm in June.

Lourie ( focuses his practice on representing technology-based companies in commercializing their technologies and bringing products and services to market. He has substantial experience in licensing, joint ventures and collaborations, especially in the field of life sciences. Lourie also advises companies and individuals in the United States and abroad in technology transfers, venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy acquisitions, specialized lending, international law and securities law. He writes and speaks on such topics as technology licensing, biotechnology transfer and entrepreneurship, among others.

Lourie earned his J.D. in 1986 from Syracuse University College of Law, magna cum laude, and was the senior lead articles editor of the Mu. He graduated in 1982 with a B.Sc. in Psychobiology from McGill University. Lourie has been frequently named as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and was named by Euromoney/LMG as a Life Science Star in 2012.
